Cucumber spray is a must have for me in the hot summer months. I don’t know about where you live but here in North Carolina it is so hot and humid! I tend to be high maintenance in that I hate to be cold and hate to be too hot. Basically you just can’t make me happy. Hahaha! I love to have a good cooling spray to cool me down in summer. I take it with me if I’m heading to the park or pool. Most of all is its super soothing if you spent too much time in the sun without sunscreen! Keeping it in the refrigerator makes it extra chilly and soothing. The natural ingredients will give you extra moisture and won’t dry out your skin or clog your pores.
1/4 cup distilled water
15 drops lavender essential oil (you can read about why I choose Young Living oils here)
1. Peel and chop cucumber. Mash through a fine mesh strainer to extract juice (1/4 cup)
2. Using funnel pour the juice and 1/4 cup distilled water into a spray bottle.
3. Add 15 drops lavender essential oil then replace cap and shake.
4. To use, spritz on your face after cleansing or any time you want a cool down.
Refrigerate and use within 10 days
We plan to spend our summer sitting at the pool and cooling off with this easy cucumber spray and eating fruit. My kids love using this spray themselves to mist their faces when they get hot, although I think they mostly just like using the spray bottle. Our summer will be so busy with moving into our new house, trying to decorate, and keeping four kids occupied and not whining about summer boredom. I am also hoping to squeeze in a beach trip (or two) in there somewhere! Now that we have moved further north our usual Folly Beach is a bit far. If you’re in the Raleigh, North Carolina area and have some suggestions on the closest beach I would love to hear them! 🙂
