I love a flawless tan but I’m pretty anti laying out. I’ll be honest and say I’ve spent my fair share sunbathing but I’ve spent so much money trying to reverse all that sun damage that I’m now team self tan. The hardest part for me was finding a self tanner that was quick, streak free, and looked natural. I loathe an orange looking tan or too many red tones! I do go to a spray tan booth but I don’t always have time to make it over there and sometimes need something for between sprays!
This combo rocks my world! Its easy to do and my tan always comes out flawless. Using a facial oil self tanner is important for my face too since it doesn’t break me out and I never get those weird brown tanning spots in my pores. Yuck!
Step 1: Exfoliate with C. Booth Foaming Charcoal This stuff is AMAZING! Its kind of the consistency of damp sand. You just scoop a little in your hand and rub over wet skin while in the shower. It leaves my skin feeling absolutely smooth and gets any dead skin off. This is so important when it comes to a natural looking tan. Self tanner tends to be more concentrated on areas with dry skin.
Step 2: Apply moisturizer to your hands, elbows, knees, and feet. I don’t care what kind you use just make sure you rub it in good. This will keep your skin moisturized in those areas that tend to be more dry.
Step 3: Using a tanning kit apply Loving Tan 2 hour express all over your body. I LOVE this brand! It doesn’t give me any weird red or orange tones and the color develops in 2 hours so I don’t have to wait. It also doesn’t stain my clothes…win! I like to rub it in circles to really make sure I get it all over. The mitt keeps my palms from getting stained. Once I’ve done my whole body I take the mitt off and use my hand to apply St. Tropez Self tan luxe facial oil all over my face, down my neck and up into my hairline. This facial tanning oil is the only one I’ve found that doesn’t break my face out. And the color always comes out looking natural.
Step 4: Wash your hands after applying the facial oil. And this is the step that will really keep your hands looking natural! Using a fluffy powder makeup brush pump a little of the Loving Tan foam onto the brush and go over the tops of your hands blending down into your arm. This is key for keeping your hands looking natural!
And that’s it! Make sure to moisturize daily to help your tan last longer!
